This week’s painting features a honey dripper angled from above with golden honey spilling downward into a smooth puddle on a simple surface. A single bee hovers just to the right, wings lifted as it inspects the rich, glowing honey. The scene is softly lit, emphasizing the warm amber tones of the honey against a muted background.

Gummy Bear & Honey Bear

I’ve wanted to paint this sweet little duo for a while – a glowing gummy bear and a cheerful honey bear bottle. Their warm, happy colors just felt like sunshine.

I staged them with dramatic light to play up their reflections and glow. And yes, gummy bears were harmed in the making of this piece – my husband and I may have eaten most of the props.

Spilled Honey, Spoon & Bee

Bumble Bee, Honey & Blossoms

Introducing this week’s painting: “Bumble Bee, Honey & Blossoms.” As I worked on this piece, I couldn’t help but feel the end of summer creeping in on us—a bittersweet time of year when the days are still warm, but there’s a hint of change in the air. This painting is an ode to the end of summer, featuring a honey bear bottle surrounded by two freshly picked flowers from my yard—a vibrant Black-Eyed Susan and a graceful Purple Coneflower. A curious bumble bee hovers nearby, drawn to the last of the season’s blooms. Soft light filters in from the left, illuminating the scene and casting a warm, golden glow on the wall behind the honey.

Honey, Bee, Lemon & Tea Auction

This painting features a honey bee observing a backlit honey bear bottle drizzling golden honey down upon a lemon slice that rests on the lip of a glass cup of tea. This piece is the largest painting I have create to date in the honey bear series.

This piece will be available at auction in my shop starting tonight from 7pm cst and ending Saturday, 7pm cst.
