Hi LaurenThank you for sharing your wonderful paintings. I wanted to find out how long you leave your paintings to dry before you varnish ready for sale. I hope you don’t mind me asking. I have read it takes 6 months to properly dry. I look forward to hearing from you.RegardsShirley

Hi Shirley! I use Gamblin Gamvar to varnish my paintings. Gamvar is unique in that it can be applied when the oil paint is dry-to-touch. With Gamvar the oil paint can continue to oxidize after applying. My paintings are dry-to-touch after about 4 days but I usually wait 2 weeks before varnishing.
