Tea with Lemons

Size: 12” x 12” Oil on 1/8″ Ampersand Panel
The original painting along with fine art prints will be available on Sunday, May 17th at 9:00 am CST

This painting features a cup of tea on a saucer, with a spoon and two lemons, all set under dramatic lighting. I was drawn to the contrast between the bright yellow lemons and the deep shadows, and the way the light reflected off the surfaces. It was a fun study in color, light, and composition.

Be sure to check out the time-lapse process video on YouTube to watch it all come together!

  1. Do you ever make a past design on special order?  You have two on this site I would have liked.  One was sold before I saw the email alert and the other was before I found your site. Thanks,Carol

    1. Thanks so much for your message, Carol! I typically only paint one original, one-of-a-kind piece, so once a painting is sold, I don’t usually recreate the exact same design. However, I do often paint similar themed pieces with the same subject matter, so there’s a chance something along those lines could come up again! I don’t take commissions, but I’d love to know which pieces you were interested in – that helps me get a feel for what people are drawn to when planning future work.

      1. Chickadee & yellow cup and Teapot & Goldfinch.  I want to get a coordinated pair the same size.  The Goldfinch is important to me because it was a symbol for my sister who is deceased now.  I want them in my kitchen so the teapot and teacup is a good theme.  The pair could both even be Goldfinches but a mix with the other bird does give variety. Thanks,Carol

      2. Goldfinch and lemon tea and Goldfinch and striped cup are other favorites on your Etsy site.  I almost ordered the prints but I have an oversion to prints.  I would much rather pay more for the originals. Thanks,Carol
